Thursday update
Alright, I know I'm being quiet again - there must be something in the air because we keep having not-so-good stuff going on right now, which I don't want to write about on here.
However, it inspired us to go to the Kennedy School last night for dinner. We always put our name in for a table and then go to Honors bar or the Detention Room to get a drink while we wait for the table. Last night they had a small batch beer at Honors which was an India Black Ale. Because I am a huge IPA fan (as Tim would tell me, "they're out of control!!"), I had to try it.
Really awesome, I didn't even know such a thing existed. It was as dark as a stout, but had all the hoppiness that make me hoppy, errr...happy. It was complex and I really like it. When I was starting on my second one, the bartender was kind enough to let me know that it's 8% alcohol, so I might want to switch after that. Which I did, but man, I hope it is still there when Jess, Steve, Michele and Dean come for a visit - I suspect Steve and Jess will really like it too.
It also led to some very interesting conversations between Brian and I at dinner. We talked about a few things I never knew about him - and when you've been dating someone for 16 1/2 years, that's pretty cool. Thank you, beer!
In other news, guess what I get to do? We are going whale watching!!! I'm so excited. My cousin Scott lives in Seattle, and his brother (also my cousin, for those following along) Steve is in town from Wisconsin. So we are going to go watch grey whales for a few hours. I'm overexcited about this, and am back to wishing I had a decent camera. But never fear, I will be taking too many shots, I am sure, and will put them up on my flickr account. Which is also good because I've been neglecting that account as much as this one.
